On June 30th, 2014 (the 150th anniversary of the founding of the park), Mattie, Kelly, Mary, Roger and Chris hiked from Yosemite Valley up to the top of Half Dome - a distance of approximately 18 miles, with 5,000 ft elevation gain. The temperature at the valley floor was 104 during the hike (high 80s on the trail)
