About

I’ve been taking pictures for over 40 years; originally as a teenager with an Olympus OM-1 35mm SLR camera (developing the film and prints in my own darkroom), later with a variety of pocket cameras and Digital SLRs, and finally, with my ‘smartphone’. My favorite camera of all time was a Panasonic Lumix LX-7 pocket camera, which I unfortunately left out in the rain!

While I appreciate the power and flexibility of the latest Digital SLRs, my preference is for a high quality ‘pocket’ digital camera, one with a good lens and full manual control.   The ability to carry the smaller camera anywhere and everywhere, and to travel ‘light’, make the smaller digitals superior to the bulky D-SLRs for 95% of all situations.  More recently, Smartphones have become ‘good enough’.

I love to travel and take pictures of stunning scenery and ancient monuments. However, I also love to take pictures of everyday life – the food I eat, the view from my window, traffic on the freeway, and all manner of things.  This site is a way to capture and present some of the pictures I take every day so I can share them with family and friends – and also, see them myself!
